tests is maximized with quality test equipment and a
work area designed for efficiency.
Don’t overlook the following when designing or upgrading this important area:
• It is easy for counterspace to be cluttered with test equipment. Plan accordingly when
deciding the total amount of counterspace needed.
• This area is subject to all kinds of spills. It must be easy to clean.
• Adequate storage space is often overlooked in this part of the facility. For an efficient lab
area, all needed supplies must be at your fingertips, but not in the way.
• Narcotic substances need to be secure and controlled. A narcotics safe limits
access to only authorized staff.
